Alliance for Action (AfA) on Norms for Joss Paper Burning 焚烧冥纸规范行动联盟

The 7th Lunar Month 2024 PE campaign focuses on correcting misconceptions associated with joss paper burning and the use of burners. The key messages are as follows:

1. Let’s foster goodwill by being considerate towards our environment and neighbours when burning offerings.

2. Joss paper should be burnt at the designated areas. Do not burn joss paper along common corridors, staircases or at lift lobbies.

3. Do not toss or scatter joss paper, and ensure that you clear up your offerings after prayers.

4. Burn offerings based on sincerity, and burn smaller amounts of joss paper to reduce smoke and ashes.

5. Consider joining communal prayers in nearby temples.

2024年农历七月的公众教育运动着重于澄清并更正关于焚烧金银纸的迷思和不正确行为。以下是行动联盟的公众教育讯息：

1. 祭祀时心存环保，关怀邻里。

2. 请在指定地点焚烧金银纸。勿在公共走廊， 楼梯口或电梯大堂焚烧金银纸。

3. 切勿乱抛金银纸。祭祀后，请记得清理香烛祭品， 保持环境清洁。

4. 祭祀在于诚心而非金银纸的数量，适量焚烧，减少烟雾和灰烬。

5. 考虑参与邻近寺庙的集体祭祀。

The Lunar New Year 2024 PE campaign focuses on encouraging responsible joss paper burning. The key messages are as follows:

1. As we usher in the Lunar New Year, let’s accumulate merits by being considerate to our neighbourhood and the environment.

2. There is no need to burn joss paper along common corridors for your prayers to be received.

3. Ensure that offerings fit into the joss paper burners provided by Town Councils before purchasing them. Please clear up your offerings after your prayers.

4. Consider doing new year prayer rituals in temples instead of residential estates.

2024年农历新年的公众教育运动鼓励居民在焚烧金纸时要有公德心。以下是行动联盟的公众教育讯息：

1. 新年到了万象更新，齐心协力确保环境更清洁。

2. 接送神明拜天公，虔诚祭拜与了解初衷。不需在公共走廊焚烧金纸。

3. 购买大型纸制祭品前，请查看焚烧桶的尺寸是否容纳得下。祭拜后，请清理香烛祭品， 保持环境清洁。

4. 不妨考虑到邻近庙宇进行祭拜活动。
