Celebrating MSO's 10th Anniversary

 

MSO is celebrating a decade of collaborating and partnering Government agencies and town councils to improve the delivery of municipal services to residents. We are also appreciative of residents, community leaders and students from the Institutes of Higher Learning coming forward to ideate and implement ground-up initiatives so as to better upkeep our neighbourhoods and enhance our living environment.

MSO’s 10th Anniversary Exhibition


Highlights of MSO's 10-Year Journey

An exhibition is set up at The URA Centre, Level 1 Atrium, to showcase various exhibits on MSO and its work. The exhibition is opened to the public from 2 to 19 October 2024, 9am to 5pm, except Sundays. Admission is free.

MSO's 4-part 10th Anniversary Video Series

Watch our 4-part video series which showcase our people and work, and highlight how our work has evolved to better serve residents and transform municipal service delivery.

 

Episode 1: As One Service
Key highlights: 
  • Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and then Minister-in-charge of MSO shared about the time when MSO was first established, following then PM Lee’s announcement about the formation of MSO in his National Day Rally speech in 2014.
  • Hear from MSO’s Case Management Team on their experience in managing cases submitted through our OneService channels, and the work behind the scenes to resolve issues.

 

 



Episode 2: The Heart of One Service
Key highlights:
  • Features MSO’s partnerships with stakeholders through noteworthy projects, such as the restoration of a bridge over the Pang Sua canal, connecting three towns and benefitting more than 3,500 residents.
  • Hear from 3 municipal workers - an NParks’ arborist, a cleaner working in an NEA-operated hawker centre (Tanglin Halt Market), as well as a property manager from Sembawang Town Council - who describe their work to serve residents.

Episode 3: Embracing Innovation
Key highlights:
  • Outlines the adoption of technologies in the municipal services sector, and embraces out-of-the-box thinking to re-organise municipal service delivery for faster, better and more productive outcomes.
  • Examples of innovative solutions/technologies include: lift monitoring devices and smart LED lights (HDB); Maven 2 Mobile – a centralised app for greenery management (NParks); Road Vision Pro (LTA); and C3 system, augmented reality glasses, and thermal-imaging drones (MSO’s integrated operations pilot in Tampines Town).

Episode 4: Partnering the Community

Key highlights:

  • Partnerships with the community to address issues in the neighbourhood and the way forward.
  • Showcases interesting community projects/project groups through MSO’s initiatives: Love Our ‘Hood – Clean Fernvale project to address littering; Project Code R.E.D. (Research, Engage, Deploy) - Temasek Polytechnic’s public education campaign to address neighbourhood noise issues; Community Advisory Panel (CAP) on Neighbourhood Noise - Dr William Wan (Chairman of the CAP) shares about the Panel’s work; and Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for National Development and Minister-in-charge of MSO shares her hopes for MSO to be a champion of pro-social norms and help cultivate a stronger sense of ownership on municipal issues in the community.

OneService Game Changers Challenge (OGCC) 2024

To commemorate MSO’s 10th anniversary, MSO co-organised the OGCC 2024 with Temasek Polytechnic to partner the community to conceptualise and design games to promote considerate behaviours to tackle municipal issues, so as to create a better living environment for residents. The winners of the Challenge were announced at the Municipal Services Awards (MSA) 2024 Ceremony cum 10th Anniversary Celebration. Find out more about the winning games here!
